Sis,—As the 25th inst. is named for Hie day of nomination, and the 7th March tor tho day of election of the incoming Irastces, allow me to ask if a statement oi moneys received and paid by the Trustees for the past year, ending 31stDecember last, has yet been published. a \ ??J& th , a 25th 6eotion of the Rabbit Act of 1880, that the accounts for the past year shall bo audited in the month of January m each year, by an auditor appointed by the Governor. ■' The 26th Clause directs that the Trusses shall before the second week in ■January m each year, cause the accounts or the past year, up to and including the last day of December, to be balanced, and also a full and true statement and account to be prepared of the amount of all rates' made and levied, and 'of all moneys received and expended, and also of all debts then owing by and to the Trustees, and such statement and account signed by the Chairman.and one Trustee at least shall be submitted by such Chairman to the . The 27th clause directs that the treasurer of every district shall forthwith,-! after such audit, make out and cause to, be printed and published in any newspaper oiroukted in the district, a full abst™J°f the accounts for the. year as

Utaraia Trustees have published their accounts without waiting for a Govt ■rait, and in doing so have carried out the spirit of the Act, which evidentlyindioates that.ratopayers should be made lainihar with the accounts before the annual election takes place.-—Eb..W'DJ
