Silt.—A paragraph iu your issue of the Ist instant might, .if-not corrected, be calculated to mislead your readers. You state that letters for places thirty or forty miles from Mastevtnn are sent by rail to Wellington, second by sea to Napier, and thence by coach to destination. Presuming that the places referred to aro the townships between this and Napier, I beg '■to. inform your correspondent "that such letters are not 'sent by Wellington, but •direct to destination by conveyancei whioK leaves here on Mondays, Wednesdays, and "Fridays after arrival of late train, overtaking at Ek'et'ahuna the confili'which •started at 1.30 p.m. The object'of despatching mails at that hour is to enable residents in Wellington to post: letter's after 6 a.m. (when the mails leave for Foxtan) and up "t0.3 p.in. Such cbrxespondeuce.would otherwise have to remain in Wellington until the following We'd-'-..nesday';.:owing to the Foxtoii service being how a tri-jveekly.instead of a daily, one.
