The Trustees havo voted. fill tho ftvailablo fundi at their disposal for improvements, and until the public bodies of Masterton and the peoplo themselves take a more decided interest in this valuable property tho Trustees cannot, in the absence of fundß, make it more attractive. It is satisfactory to nhservo. that a local cricket olub-tho" Rising Stars"—have found the oval in 'tho Park suitable for practice, and it is hoped that other clubs will follow its example, But the Trustees would be glad as a recompense for the use of the ground, as for its own comfort and convenience, that this club hid oxpended a small sum on the improvement of the oval. The Trustees, as you are awaro, have . . called for tenders for the cutting and ■ removing the grass for a period of nine months, but tho Trustees regret no eligible tender has been received. The rye grass seed alone would be a considerable item in the expenditure. E. Hare, ■-'-'■ Secretary. , ■r.v. Maaterton, Jan. 7th, 1882. v BALANCE SH3ET.
