WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The hospital enquiry ended in a report being submitted to the Colonial Secretary to-day recommending the immediate dismissal of the two warders and nurse who brought the charges. It further recommended that, as the staff is disorganised, the steward and matron be allowed to resign. The Colonial Secretary approved of the three persons being dismissed this afternoon. It being well known that the disorganisation was created by the charges brought against the steward and matron, the latter portion of the report has created astonishment and indignation.
The steamer Rangitira, 196 tons, owned by three Wellington men, is totally wrecked four miles north of New Ply» mouth at three o'clock this morning, the weather being fine and the sea smooth, The chief officer, who has already lost three coasters, was in charge. The passengers were landed, but the cargo is lost. The loss iB £9,000: no insurances,
