This was an action under the Contractors and Debtors Act, 1871, for the recovery of wages. The defendant was a sub-contractor under the Wairar&pa West County, and the vueation was raised as to whether he oould be attaohed under the Act or whether the proper method of procedure had been adopted. The Court ruled in favor of the defendant, Mr Beard, giving notice of appeal. Four other cases of a similar character were brought against the defendant, but it was agreed that that they should be decided by the first case. W. Easthope vG, Morris,—Debt 15s.
