Goie, j Treasurer. The foregoing summary, together with that appearing in a late issue, show the application of the whole of the funds tint have been at the disposal of the Council to the 30th ult. It will thus be seen that the moneys received under the General Fund Account have been mainly applied in rendering assistance to the various -Road Boards to enable them to maintain the main roads within their respective boundaries and to ky off fresh ones through lands in respect of which the Crown grants had not matured, and in subsidizing the hospitals within the county, the balance being absorbed by the expenses incidental to the efficient work ing of the Council, those attending the election of Councillors for the various ridings of the county, and the valuation and

necessary for the effective ferry. The balance of the vote will be absorbed by works now in progress. Vote 87, Item 22.-In surveying the block, falling of bush, and formation of roads from the Eketahuna to the Alfredton boundaries thereof; the time for the completion of the whole of the works now under contract expiring within the current year. Vote 100, Item 41.—1n road formation, fencing, and erection of bridges and culverts. Vote 100, Items 43 and 46.—1n road and drain formation, fencing, and erection of culverts.
