WAIRARAPA HOSPITAL.

The annual meeting of subscribers to the Wairarapa Hospital was held in the Institute on Friday. There was a verv small attendance. Mr W. G. Beard, who was voted to the chair, read the report and balance sheet for the past year. The balance sheet showed the total receipts to be £447 8s 9d, and the expenditure £338 Is lid. The assets are quoted as £352 2s Id, and the liabilities £7918s lid. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Skeet, seconded by Mr Barnaid, that the report and balance sheet be adopted as read. The following gentlemen were elected members of the General Committee for the following year: Messrs W. G. Beard, 6. Beetham, Barnard, Cox, Cuff, Knell, Duckling, Hastwell, Fairbrother, Caselbcrg, Kempton, jun., Moore, Pharazyn, Maxton, Rev. Thomas, W. Skeet, and F H. Wood. COMMITTEE MEETING. The meeting of the committee was then held. Present-Messrs W. G. Beard (chairman), Pharazyn, Cuff, Barnard, Skeet, and F, H. Wood. It was resolved.—That Mr Pharazyn be Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing year. On the motion of Mr Cuff, seconded by Mr Wood, that Messrs Skeet and Stenhouse be elected auditors. The following gentlemen were elected a House Committee:—Messrs Cuff, Wood, Barnard, Thomas, and Beard. A letter was read from the Rev. A. Knell, recommending an increase of the Secretary's salary. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Pharazyn, seconded by Mr Skeet that the Secretary's salary be £2O per annum, and a commission of 5 per cent, on subscriptions collected. It was resolved that applications for the office of Secretary be called. It was resulved that the Secretary acknowledge the receipt of the Rev. A. Knell's letter, and tender the hearty thanks of the Committee for past services, and regret as to the cause of retirement from office.
