N.B.—" The Counties Act, 1976," was adopted in its entirety in the Wairarapa West County on the 31st August, 1878. The total subsidy which was payable to the County was £2,332 5s 3d ; but from this thero was deducted by the Government, on account of expenditure incurred prior to the Act being brought into full force, and for other works within the County, the sum of £1032 12s 9d, the revenue of the County for the year being thus reduced by that amount; while on the other hand heavy advances have been made by way of subsidy to the Road Boards to enable them to carry out works urgently required. The subsidy for the current financial year is £2730 2s sd,
