ferring it to them. He aaked that the matter be referred to the consideration of the Speaker.
O'Rorko saw no way out of the difficulty and decided it best to leave it in the hands of members to deal with.
Hall suggested that the names be left in the hands of the selection committee. This amendment was adopted. The petition of Richardson apainst Grey for Ohristchurch was then called on. The Speaker submitted a list of names of members of the House to whom the petition should be referred,
Hißlop pointed out that the document was not stamped. Tole was ruled out of order for moving that the petition be discharged. Moorhousewas selected on behalf of Richardson; Grey selected Downie Stewart ; the Speaker named Fulton as chairman, and appointed 11 o'clock next morning at his room for the meeting of the committee, TIMARU.
