WAIOHINE RIVER BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Waiohine River Board of Conservators was held at Greytown on Friday last. Messrs Caseloerg (chairman), Hastwell, Kempton, sen., and Gallagher. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
The clerk read a statement of the amount of rates collected, and reported a credit balance at the Bank of £l7O 6s 7d. The Chairman reported having received a letter from the Featherston Highway Board re the river at the platform. A latter was read from Mr R. Sayers re claim on the Board for services rendered. The clerk was instructed to acknowledge receipt of Mr Sayers' letter and ask for particulars of account.
The clerk was instructed to write to the Colonial Treasurer asking for balance of the grant-in-aid due to the Board. The clerk was instructed to forward pay sheets and accounts for August and September to the Chairman of the Wairarapa West County Council, and ask that the subsidy promised might be placed to the credit of the Board.
