WAIRARAPA INSTITUTE.
The usual monthly meeting of The Com mittee, was held on Tuesday last, Present : Mcssss Baillie, Porritt, Thomas, Skeet, Bock, and Stenliouse. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Bock, seconded by Mr Thomas, that Mr Baillie be Chairman of the Committee. The Treasurer reported tho balance at the Bank £loll7s 2d. The following acconnts were passed for payment : £ S D Mr St George ... 512 10 Lyon & Blair ... 16 15 7 Caselberg&Co... 4 9 7 M'Kimley&Co... 0 G 0 Librarian 6 5 0 A letter was read from Mr Wood regretting his inability to attend and request ing that all books delapitated and past circulations be given to the Wairarapa Hospital. Mr Thomas supported Mr Wood's suggestion, and prooosed that the selection • of such books be left to the Book Committee. Mr Bock reported re catalogues that the cost at the Standard office would be £5 Bs. Mr Skeet proposed and Mr Thomas seconded, that the offer be accepted. Carried. It was resolved sn the motion of Mr Haines, seconded by Mr Porritt, that by-law No. 7, be rescinded. Mr Haines gave notion that he.vould move at next meeting that the Secretary and Treasurer be remunerated for his services, if the funds admitted of it. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Porritt, seconded by Mr Bock, that 25 copies of the by-laws be printed. A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the business.
