THE FIRE AT DUNEDIN.
DuiVßDijf, Sunday. A great gathering took place here on Saturday to witness the funeral of the late Mr iind Mrs Wilson, their four children, and some of the other persons lolled at the lire, who were claimed by relatives or friends. These were interred m the Southern Cemetery. The whole of the shops along die line of route were closed while the procession passed, and the firebelUas tolled at intervals of a minute. The procession was hended liy members of the Naval Brigade, Cadets, and Good Templars (with which bodies Frederick Wilson was associated). Then came several of the school mates of young Lawrence Wilson, then four nail-bearers, the coffin being f<j]luwcsd by Messrs 11. J. Walter, Jno, Patterson, and George fcnwick, the employees of the Daily Times, who were connected with the late Mr Wilson at. the time of the fire, and the general public. The procession was nearly half a mile in length. Archdeacn Edward's and the Rev Dr ftoseby officiated at the ffrave. Margaret McCarthy was buried to-day in Ihe Catholic Cemetery. There was a considerable gathering.
