WANGANUI.
Monday. At a fire at Kcll's general store, Taupo Quay, the flames spread rapidly and soon completely enveloped Capstick's Railway Hotel. Owing to the efforts of the Brigade and a good supply of water the fire was confined to the two buildings, foil's family escaped without saving anything,
The origin of the fire is unknown. Insurances : Kell's store, building, £IOO inNew Zealand: stock £OOO in Imperial, £6OO in National; furniture, £250, in Transatlantic. Capslick, building, £250 in North British Mercantile, £6OO in Union; stock and furniture, £l5O in South British, £ll3 in Stand ird.
