TO THE ELECTORS OF THE BOROUGH OF MASTERTON. Electors and Electressks— As it is my intention to Stand at the Coming Election for the office of Twaddler to the Council, 1 beg to submit to you my opinion, I am a thorough believer iu " Mixed up Government." I consider every interest and class should berepresented, and consequently I come forward as the only man fitted by birth and fortune to representee aristociacy and will try my best to teach my brethren in the Council what they already know, and how to behave as gentlemen, When violent safeguards are discussed by the conflicting interests of rash and unconsidered courses of proceeding, then measures are unlikely to exist, the representation of different parties are challenged, every man's right is opposed, and opposition and counter action are secured and why not ? ' Support me and you will be well represented. I shall advocate if returned:— Attacks on rabbits. That lamp posts be erected in the mainstre3t3, at short distances, for the benefit of benighted inebriates. I shall thus be assured of a great deal of town support. That where there are no metalled roads people shall be allowed to wade through the mud to their dwellings, That the Upper Plain Road be planted on each side with trees, and seats placed every one hundred yards for the convenience of my friends in that district. Thattheßorough Works should be paid for by the Government aud the County Councils in equal proportions, That all Councillors be made honorary members of the gentlemen's club. In the present depressed state of the Colony, I shall be prepared to pay off the overdraft at ouce. From the above you will see that I am in favor of the exuberance of verbosity, mental übiquity, the Local Option Bill, and 12 o'clock Licenses. Yeurs, withassurrance, KING FERGUS.
