The testimony of Mr Charles Pharazyn to the financial abortions of the Grey Ministry is very rich. Mr C. Pharazyn was one of the birds on whose tail salt was to be put freely. One of the rich men who was to take upon himself the burden (f the poor. What is the result 1 the reduction of the duties on tea, sugar, etc, made by the Grey Ministry, relieved Mr Pharazyn to the extent of, say, £SO a year, and his land tax amounts to £43, so that he s makes an absolute profit of £7 per annum out of the Government, and as the land tai may not be collected, possibly, a much larger sum. This instance goes to prove that the Grey Government are utterly ignorant and untrustworthy in finance, and absolutely are blessing those they mean to curse, and cursing the working men, whom they profess to bless. Sii George Grey is making the rich richer, and the poor poorer throughout the land.
