The following statement has been handed to us as shewing the financial position of the Pastoral Society at present. It is published in the hope that the perusal of it may induce a few of the outside members to come forward and take up the remaining seventeen debentures, thereby relieving, practically, the whole of the present bank overdraft, and placing the affairs of the Society on a secure footing once and for all. It will be seen that if these debentures are taken up, the overdraft will be at once reduced to a minimum, and those taken up but not yet paid for, together with the funds now in hand and to collect, will 11101*0 than meet the Society's liabilities for prizes, &c. To those who wish to subscribe for any debentures we may point out that provision is made in the " permanent charges account" for interest on debentures at the rate of 10 ppr cent- per annum. In tlio proposed expenditure for the current year, the receipts to meet this are based on those of last year, and the Directors have determined that the expenditure shall be kept strictly within this limit, We urge upon all stock owners in the district to give the Society their hearty support and send in their names as subscribers to the annual list, the debenture list or both Statement, £ s. n, £ s, i), Debentures taken up but not yet paid for 100 0 0 Funds in hand and to collect ~ .. 99 15 0 Bank Overdraft ~ 171 5 6 Credit balanco £2B 9 6 Prizes for which Society is liable .. .. 124 5 0 Other outstanding liabilities 71 5 0 Less credit balance 28 9 G £167 0 (» Debentures not yet taken up 170 0 0 Credit balance ~. £2 19 6 Inland and Pmment Charges Account.
