THE MASTBRTON SCHOOL.
(To tk Editor of Ik Wairarapa Daily,) Sir,—The equivocal manner in which Mr McKee evades the statement I made concerning him does not in the least exculpate him from the consciousness of having done hia best to frustrate the plans of the majority of the School Committee, and thus, in a pecuniary way only, blighted the prospects of the applicant, who, having opened a school, closed it on the supposition—from some conversation she had with the Inspector—that she was sure of the appointment, thereby causing her three months less of time in reorganising the same.
I mention this as Mr McKee evidently misconstrues the meaning of my words when ho pleads " Nothing was said to injure the reputation of the applicant"—to do this is not in his power. I luve it from a member of the Board that the question of certificate was not raised, and I again repeat that the appointment (which was so much desired by many interested in the school) was not lost on that ground, lam, (to,, Teacher.
