FEATHERSTON LOCAL BOARD.

Tub usual monthly meeting of thcFeatherston Local Board was held at the Odd Fellows' Hall on Monday, the 3rd instant. Present—Cox (chairman), Cundy, Reynolds, Keys, and Shirley. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed, BAIANCE IN HAND. The Treasurer's book shewed a balance of £6 5s lid. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed for paymento. Tait, £SO Is 5d ; T. F. Bennett, £l4s; valuation, etc., £7 7s. WORKS COMMITTEE, The Works Committee reported on works and repairs in progress. engineer's report. The engineer, Mr Donald, attended, and reported on the very satisfactory manner in which Mr Tait had finished the formation and footpath at the Club Hotel. REPAIRS. Repairs needed at the Ford and Revans' street were ordered to be attended to at once. TENDERS. The following tenders were accepted : —T. F. Bennett, metalling Fox-street, £2 18s per chain ; 0. Tait, 2G chains, formation and culvert Fox-street, £39125; C. Tait, 19 chains formation Bell-street, £2B. • FLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. Plans and specifications were submitted for works required in Watt, Renall, and Daniel streets, which were ordered to stand over till next meeting, to allow the sub-committee to report thereon. PETITION. A petition was received from 25 ratepayers requesting the Board to form Lyon street from the Railway station to lievansstrect. XOTIDE OF MOTION. Mr Cox gave notice that at the next meeting he would move—That the Board levy a rate of Is in the pound on the annual value of all property in the Local Board district; also a Library rate of one penny in the pound. Complaints were made to the Board of sheep and cattle being slaughtered in the town. The Chairman was instructed to take steps in the matter to abate the nuisance. A special meeting of the Board is to be held on Monday, the 10th instant,
