The Colonial Secretary wrote covering the appointment of Mr Cheverton as ranger.
A letter was received from Mr T. E. Donne, Superintendent of the Tourist and Health Department, thanking the Society for the donation of £25 towards importing game. It is proposed to distribute any game imported in the most suitable locality for acclimatisation, and later, when increased in numbers, to distribute as far as [possible among socities contributing. The new Act was read over, and its provisions discussed. It does not give anyone the right to fish [without a license in any waters on Ibis land unless they are entirely !within his land. A license must Ibe taken out to fish in streams running into and out of the land, so that anyone found fishing without a license makes himself liable to be prosecuted for so doing. Accounts amounting to £5 were passed for payment, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the president for presiding.
