Library Committee.
The monthly meeting of the Waimate Library Committee was held last, evening, Messrs W. M. Hamilton (chair), A. Oox, 0. Akhurst, W. L. Scott, M. Smith and G. H. Graham (secretary) being present. Mr Milsom sent an apology. Mr Akhurst reported that a letter, with a photo of the Library, had been sent to Mr Carnegie, asking for financial assistance. Mr Manchester sent a donation of £1 to the Library funds, and a vote of thanks was passed him. Messrs Oox and Akhurst were thanked for preparing the letter and photo for Mr Carnegie. It was resolved to ascertain the coat of a lamp for the front of the library, and of painting a sign. The tender of Messrs P. W. Hutton and 00. was accepted for the supply of magazines. The Committee decided to hire the committee room for meetings. . Accounts amounting to £6 14s Sd were passed for payment and the meeting ended.
