A deputation from the Wellington District Law Society waited on the Acting-Premier, and represented that in the opinion of all the Law Societies of the colony the present salaries of Judges of the Supreme Court were insufficient. The minimum salaries in the opinion of the depuration should be £"21100 for puisne Judges and £2500 ior tlm Chief Justice. Sir J. G. Ward promised to lay the matter before the Cabinet.
