A. and P. Association.
A general meeting was held on Saturday, there being a very fair attendance of members. A.n apologv lor a use u:e was received from Air Francis. (presid-tit) on account of the illness of his wife. The letter was received, the Association expressing regret at Mrs Francis’ illness. Apologies were also received from Messrs Hertslett and Ward. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. Messrs W. Philip. J. IT. Aliln-n and Jas. Patterson were elected members of the Association.. The first business was consideration of the schedule, and the following alterations were made . SHEEP. That champion classes be done away with, and in placm of them a champion certificate be given for best ram and best ewe in each purebred class, tins also to apply to Class Iff (champion pen of live fat lambs). CATTLE. Tit it champion certifi.Mte be given for best bull and best cow in e.-.c i pur.,-bred class. DRAUGHT HORSES. That Class 140 be amended to re id, “Must be ridden by a lady” ; licit driving competition for tandem teams be included (the vice-president, Mr Miller, offers £2 2s first in this class, Association give second prize of £1 Is); that Class 151 (best troop horse) bo left in, conditions as before, Messrs P. and 11. Studholmo offering £3 3s as first prize. DAIRY PRODUCE. That Classes 175 and 177 be amended to read, “ two pounds of butter in halfpound rolls ” ; that the prizes in Class 176 (fancy butter) be first £l, second 10s, third ss, as in other butler classes. The date of the Show was fix d for Friday, November 7. The horse parade was fixed for Saturday, October 4, the entrance fee to remain as at present. The tender of the Waim.vtk Adnertisbk was accepted for the bocie ty’s printing. The canvassing committee, with the president and vice-president, were empowered to allot the special prize ■>. A meeting was fixed for Wednesday next at 7.30 to arrange for judges and stewards.
Accounts amounting to £B 17s were passed and the meeting ended.
