Hospital Board.
The monthly meeting was held yesterday. Present —Messrs Sinclair (chairman), Studholme, Walker, Nicol, Bitchener and Dr Barclay. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Matron's report was read and approved. The surgeon's report showed that 3 males and 5 females were admitted during the month and 2 males and 3 females discharged, leaving 5 males and 7 females still under treatme.it. There were 23 appearances for outdoor treatment. The South Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board wrote that they had passed a resolution to take legal opinion as to the alleged loss the Waimate Hospital Trustees would sustain by losing the Government subsidy on their rates for hospital and charitable aid purposes. It was left to the chairman, Mr Walker and the secretary to watch the whole question of hospital separation and take steps to cope with urgent business.
The visitors reported everything satisfactory save that a new clock was required. It was decided to get an eight-day clock i! the old one oould not be repaired. Accounts amounting to JSI22 16s 6d were passed. Messrs Sinclair and Walker were appointed visitors for the month.
