Water Gas for Waimate

The question of water-gas for Waimate was revived last evening on the termination of Mr J. Watt’s contract with the Council which expired through not being taken up, The matter was considered in committee. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Ooltman, seconded by Mr Inkster—“That Mr vVatt having failed to comply with the conditions of his contract, in that the work has not been commenced in the specified time, this Council do hereby decide to terminate the agreement, and that the said agreement be now determined.”
