Waimate Horticultural Society.
The monthly mejting of committee was held last evening, present Rev. McKenzh- Gib.-son (president), and Messrs McGowau. G. Akhurst, Nicol, Dean, Hyuain, Ravenhall, Smith, Taylor, P. Lundon, 0. A. Wilson, W. Hargreaves, Howard and Scott (lion. sec). Consideration of the catalogue showed that £l3 10s 6d was already promised in special prizes, and a number of others were expected. The following alterations were made in the schedule : —Hardy cut flowers, 0 varieties \>as reduced to 6 ; class for gladioli be replaced by nasturtium ; the class for Jerusalem aitiehokes was cut out ; decorated bicycles and and go-carts are to be decorated so that they may be ridden or whoeled. The poultry and needle and fancy work were left over till the 30th.
