School Committee.
The monthly meeting of the above Committee was hold last evening ; present—Messrs W. M. Hamilton (chair), Mathias, Scott, Butcher, Nicol, Colville, Dean, and Smith. The minutes of last meeting were road and confirmed. Mr Smith proposed and Mr Dean seconded —“ That the Committee vote for Mr George Miller to represent them on tho Education Board.” — Carried. In reference to a resolution received from the Board re cadet corps, it was decided to hold tho matter over till next meeting. Accounts amounting to .£2 12s 6d were passed for payment. The visiting committee reported that the drain in front- of the school needed attention, as did the asphalt, and some parts of tho yard wanted filling in.—Decided to attend to these matters.
It was also decided to have the trees in the school ground topped.
Messrs Mathias and Dean were appointed visitors for the month.
