WASHDYKE STOCK SALE. There was a yarding of about 1500 sheep at Washdyke on Tuesday. There was a very poor attendance of buyers, bidding was slow and hardly any eales were effected. Very forward 2 tootn ewes and wethers sold at 15s 2d ; 2 tooth fat ewes 14*. Milch cows sold up to £B. PLEAPANT POINT STOCK SALE. At the Point pale there was a fair entry of sheep, but tho sale was a rather dragging one. The prices giveu for stores were a little easier than of late but fat ewes maintained their position. Sheep—Very good butchers' fat ewes brought from 12a 6d. 12a 8d to 13s ; fairly fat ewes 9s 6d, 10j 6d, 11a to lis b<\ ; small 2 tooth ewes in lamb, 9s lOd ; fair store threo-quarter bred lambs, 7a 6d, 7s 8d to 8s ; smaller lambs, 6s 6d to 7s ; cull lambs, 4s to 5s ; small Z tooth wethers, Bs, Cattle—There was ago d entry. F<*t steers, light weights, sold at £7 10s; fat cows, £8 to £8 108; forward store steers, £6 ; cows in profit and near calving, £6 to £8 ; 2 year old heifers, £4 ; yearlings, 35s to 40s ; calves, 20s to 255. ASHBURTON STOCK SALES. Ashburtok, June 10. At Ashburton yards on Tuesday there was a fair yarding of stock, and a good attendance. Th e sale was fairly irregular with regard to prices, and bidding was slack. The following are some of the prices obtained: Fat Cattle—Heifers, £5 17s 6d tQ £8 7s 6d, steers £3 to £4 2s Qd; qowb, £4 to £5 2s 6d.
Store Cattle—Dairy cows, £5 17» 6d ; from 18 months to 20 month old, £2 17i 6d to £3; springers, £5 5a to £5 10s; dry cows, £4 2s 6d ; calves, 30a ; two year old steers, £3 10a to £4 lis.
Fat Sheep—Forward crossbred eweß from 5s 9d to 12s, orossbred wethers 16d 9d, merino ewes 5s 4d to 7s 4d, merino wethers 5s lOd, lambs 7s 6d, freezing ewes for export 12s to 16s 10d, freezing lambs 10a 3d to 13s Id, freezing wethers 14s Bd,
Store Sheep —Forward wethers 9a lOd to lis 2d, merino ewes s}s too,*, crossbred ewes 10s 9d, crossbred lambs 9s 6d.
ADDIN3TON MARKETS. [by telegraph.] Chriitchdbch, June IT. There was a fairly large entry of all classes of stock in the yards, and the attendance was above the average. Sheep—ln the store pens therti a yarding of 3918, there, being ahout eqqa| proportions of ewes, wethers and lairihs. There was a dull sale, though most of the lots changed hand*, but prices wer* generally easier. The principal sales were 197 two and four tooth ha'fbred wether*, lis 4d ; 247 crossbred wethers, 10s; 104 do, 7s 5d ; 325 six and eight tooth ewes, 10s 3d ; 159 four and six tooth do, 9a lid ; 229 lambs, 7s 6d, 117 at 7s sd, 134 at 7s Bd, and 367 at 6s lOd. There were about 1800 fat lambs offered, and there was a rather better tone in the market, though prices showed little or no irr« provement. Freezing sorts made We 0d to }3,3 3d and 1 unfinished'sorts (is'qd tielss. " fcev.eral fairly" lines," \jere,' passed at about 12s.' The yardjntf of fat sheep was a very heayy qne and inclqdeq numerous lines of prime freezers. The market opened well.
Cattle—The supply of beef comprised 209 head* the bulk of which was prime qmlity, There was fairly gqqtj competition at last week's rates. A North Island bullook that took two first prizes at the Palmerston No-th show made £l4 7s 6d ; 7 steers from Mr W. O. Ruthrfrford, Montrose, £l2 17s 6d to £l4 7s 6d, 3 heifers £lO s«to £ll 5s and two cows £8 5s ; from the Chatham Island ten bullocks £5 to £7 7s 6d : ordinary steers made £510:) to £1159, heifers ££ 5,s to £8 \\s 6tf, cows %$ M £8 12s 6d,- equal to 19s 61 to 24s pe» 1001 b. r
Pigs—There was a moderate yarding of pigs and fats with a keen demand, and brought advanced rates. Bdconers made 35s to 55», equal to 3|d to 4d per lb; porkers 204 to 30s, equal to 4d per lb ; stores, 10s to 15 1 ?; suckers and weanere, 5a to 7?. ' • i
