The Waimate School play their first match against the Timaru Marist Brothers’ team in the Park this afternoon at 1.30. This is the opening match under the Schools Association Rules. Following is the Waimate team Nicolls, Nicol, Symon, Gunn, McKenzie, Adams, Wederell, Duckett, Humphries, Dyer. 11. Hayes, Wilson, Frost, Brien and Coulbeck ; emergencies, Clear, Coitman and Mathias. These teams had to play off last year, when Timaru won by 6 points. The Timaru club beat the Ashburton Pirates by 6 points to 5. The local club’s game on Thursday against outsiders ended in a win for the club by 5 points to 3. A full report is crowded out of this issue.
