Fatal Accident.
Yesterday Mr John Hazleton, Belt street, received word that his eldest son, Robert John Charles, Permanent Militia, Lyttelton, had been killed by falling over a cliff on Tuesday, the body being only found yesterday. The inquest-will be held to-day, and the Defence Department has arranged to send the body down under escort on Friday and conduct a military funeral. If they arrive on Friday’s express the funeral will take place at once, otherwise on Saturday morning.
Deceased was. a young man about 28 years old, and had been ini the force for f|ix years. His t\yo brothers are in the Christchurch Post Office, and were immediately called to Lyttelton. Great sympathy will be felt for the family in their trouble.
