Dr O’Neil McKolrie has been appointed medical officer to the New Zealand Government asylums.
. Colonel Frank Rhodes and Mr Arthur Rhodes brothers of Mr Cecil Rhodes have left for Capetown on account of the illness ot their brother. Mr Bsc.l Rhodes is cheerful and restful, but is unable to lie down. He desires to return to England. His passage is booked, but the doctors consider him toi weak to travel.
Mr W. Y. Purchase is gazetted Clerk to the Magistrate’s Court at Waimate aud to the Waitaki Licensing Committee.
