There Is much speculation as to who will command the Ninth GantingeotOne possibility is that no colonel will be chosen, hot that the contingent will be attached to the New Zealand division.tandar Colonel Davis, in which case it will sail under battalion leaders one of whom (Captain Jackson for the Sooth Island Battalion) has already been chosen. In case a Colonel should be chosen, the possible appointees are ■aid to be Colonels Robin, Newell and Owen.
The date of the teste in Waimate has not yet been fixed. There appears to | be a considerable number of applicants.
