Rifle Shooting.

On New Year’s Day the Waimate fired a match with the Christchurch City Rifles and won by 66 points. Loth foams used the now rifles, and good scores were put up, the Waimate team making the splendid average of 80.4. The 34 at 600 yards put on by Captain Foster will likely he the record for that rp-nge for acme lime. Lance-Corporal Nicol’s 34 at 500 was also excellent, and 33 at each of 300 and 500 yards scored by Lieutenant Hurst wore also very good. Too following are the scores V/ABLATE RIFLES. 300 500 600
