There was a fair entry of horses, but a small attendance of buyers, at Ptudholme Junchon on Thursday : —Young draught horses sold at £2B, £3O, £3l; £33 te £35, harness horses £l3, £l4 10*, £ls, £l6 to £2l; hackney*, £5 10*, £8 10s, to£io. Cattle —167 fat c ittle were yarded, including a fair proportion of good steers. The market opened at list week's rates, but improved by Is to Is 6d per 1001 b. John's Downs 23<>. A line of North Island wethers, only landed the previous day, sold at 15« to 16a 9d Freezsra were only operated in moderately, but about 900 ware ttken for expurc at 14s to 15b. Butchera' sons sold irregularly. Ordinary wether*, 13s to 16s ; beat ewes, 138 to 15* 61; ordinary, 9s to 12s; inferior, 4s 10i to 8s; very prime t merino wethers, 17< 6d ; ordinary 8* 2d to 108. Two thousand fab lamb* were penned, mostly of good quality,' and a good sale was had, about half boing takeu taken for export at 12« Id to 14a 101, tha majority making 13b 6d to 14*, The balance went to butcher* at 103 6< to 13a for secondary, and up to 15s 5d for prime. In store sheep 1520 camo forward, nearly all ewes with lamb«, wr»jch sold better owing 10 the lata rains, which . are improving, feed prospects. Two-tooth ewes with lambs, 8s 2d to lis 6d, and aged ewes with lambs 6s 6d to 10s (all counted) ; hoggets, lis Bd. Figs.-.-500 pigs were penned. Messrs Dalgety and Co. advise nn ler date London, December 18th as follows: —" Since our last telegram prime mutton tallow is higher by 3d to 6d per cwt. Other descriptions are unchanged. Prices are in favour of sellers. The next public sales of tallow will be held on the Bth January. .
