Waimate A. and P. Association.

A meeting of the sub-committee to arrange for a county exhibit at one of the winter shows was held last Saturday afternoon, the president, Mr Hertslett being in the chair. A letter was read from the secretary of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association stating that it had not yet been •decided whether a winter show would be held at Christchurch •during the coming winter. On the motion of Mr Francis, seconded by Mr McGowan, it was resolved that a county exhibit be prepared and shown, if possible, iu Christchurch, but if shut out ■from there that it be sent to Dune lin. It was further resolved that 'this Association consider it desirable that a winter show should be held in Christchurch during 'the coming year, and will do its utmost to help the show if held, by forwarding a county and individual exhibits, and suggests that other counties should be •asked to do the same, a copy of this resolution to be forwarded to ■the Canterbury A. audP. Association. The latter resolution was passed as there is some talk of the Canterbury A, and P. Association abandoning the winter show as there was a heavy loss on the one held last year. The hope was expressed at the meeting that anyone in the county having any produce of special merit will notify the committee or the secretary, so that an exhibit worthy of the county may be prepared. A vote ot thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
