Bowling.
The Waimate bowlers had a day out yesterday afternoon, twenty four players putting in an I appearance on the green. A large , number of the lady friends of members were also present, and in the middle of the play handed round very acceptable afternoon tea. Some lemonade sent by Mr Milsom was much enjoyed. The green looked rather brown from the long spall of dry weather, hut it played true. Sides weie chosen by the President, Mr Scott, and the VicePresident, Mr Goldstone, and a most enjoyable match resulted in a win for the former by 25 points.
