Bowling.
A large number of players turned out for practice on Thursday afternoon. Matches for the trophy and silver bowls were the order *of the day.*- For the bowls the following matches were p’ayed:— - J. H. Mitchell beat John Cameron H. Wilson „ R. Inkster E. J. Atwili „ E. Williami E. Williams „ W. J. Dailey ; W- L.-Scott- : Wm- Menaies For Mrs A* S^tt’s & tjpph^— v ; Ohas. Akhurst beat John Manxies J. H. Mitchell „ W. E. Evans The Badge Holders, Messrs J. P. Smith and H. Hertalet, were challenged by Messrs. W. L. Scott and C. V. Clarke, and a very keenly 'contested grille resulted in a draw, owing- to the hailstorm driving the players off ths green. The match is to again "take place next Thursday. 1 '
