Star Cycling Club.
:p: The adjourned annual meeting of the Sift" Cycling Club was held last evening, the President (Mr G. S. Mathias) in the chair. The balance-sheet show ad a credit balance in hand, with outstanding accounts which Would leave a debit balance.
The report stated that four club runs had been held during , the year. There had been a tendency for the membership to fall off. Theclub was bandioanped through 'not being able,to hold a in the park, owing to the charge dt £5 for the n*e of the tracks 5 - "
The balance-sheet andMport Were adopted. The chairman said that daring the year the members had not attended "the meetings, hut he thanked those who bad attended. He hoped the new officers would, stir, up the club during the new year, He would not like to see the club go to the wall. . As the r report* stated, they were handicapped i»y not having the use of the Victoria Park track. That was a matter, however, which he thought would be got over* The track was worth practically nothing now, and would cost abont £BO to put in order. It was nonsense to talk of ahy past interest being of value. Ope club couldjaot do it alone, and he thought - the various clubs' should put it in proper order. He again thanked the Club members for the honour done him. - -
The secretary took the chair daring the election: of a president* to which: position Mr. Alathias .was. nnanimonsly elected. Other officers were elected as follows ; • Patrons, Messrs 3. . r W'.' Douglas,’ Hr E; Mann and J. Manche*ter(aubjeot to their consent); .Vice-Presidents, Dr. Barclay and
Messrs J. H. Dean, W. J. Wills, J: Symon and 8. Binney; captain, Mr W. L. Scott; vioe-capiain, Mr 0. Dash; secretary, Mr J, W. Manchester ; treasurer, Mr A. Berm committee, Hearts J. Adams. R. W. Htttt, W. George, W, Mayer, F» Jack and T. Wiloa, The subscription Iras fixed at 3s 6d. Mr W. L. Scott was elected auditor. Font new members were elected to the dab . Accounts amounting to L2. 5s were passed for payment. The date of the opening run was discussed and it was left to the committee to arrange the date and the place.
