Acclimatisation Society
A meeting of the Waimate b anch of the Waituki and Waimate Acclimati-a tion Society was held at the Crito> ion Hotel on Thursday evenir.g, Mr S. J Adams, the president (in the chair) and Mesarg R. Smith, B. Cameron, S. Binney and J. Sinclair (secretary) bung also present.
Outward and inward correspondence Wat read and considered. It wat decided that the secretary should write to tho H*i. W. J. S'.eward, lhanking him for getting tha stale of th« Waitaki river telegraphed. The President was empowered to cooperate with the Waits ki braech in the introduction of waterfowl, the sum of £lO being voted far tlftt purpose. The secretary was instructed to write •skingwhat fallow deer could be procured, and to report at next meeting. It was decided to obtain 4000 rainbow fry and rear them in the ponds. Mr Joha Moynihau was appointed a ranger. Accounts amounting to £3 19a 6d were p»gied, and % vote of thanks to the president fareught the meeting to a close.
