Education Board.
The Education Board held a special meeting on Wednesday, in order to overbake work left from last meeting. The following business is of interest to this diitriob: — The Waituoa Committee having written for information as to bow to deal with children coming from other districts, it was decided to write saying that a committee was justified in refusing more pupils on the ground of insufficiency of accommodation. Several members condemned the practice of scholars running from one school to another, because they hud been interfered with by the truant officer or because they would be raised to a higher standard, It was suggested that the truant officer should keep a careful watch over such oases; The architect submitted a skstoh for enlarging Redoliff School, but it was agreed that farther on he should submit * revised plan if the people in that 1 neighbourhood would do certain carting.

G Barony reported that by next matting ho would bo able so give the requisite information about window blinds. The petition from the Kohika (Chain) Settlement for a new school was referred to tho Building OjimniUot. Mr Goodall, of Makikihi, was granted further leave of absence, ou account of illuesi. Mr J. Riordan was appointed toaaher at Hakatar«mea Valley School. The Board resolved to resume possession of the residence at Springburn, and to give notice accordingly. A nmnber of matters arising out of too technical movement were attended to, and application is to be made to the Department for necessary aid and recognition.
