W. J. Steward was elected permanent chairman of the c mniitteo, the Hon. A-. Lee Smith treasurer, and the Hon, J. R : gg secretary. The proposal made by the Hon. A. Lee Smith that the memorial should take the : form of a bairn to be erected on the top of Pnketapu Hill* near Heathfield, waj generally approved.
