Invercargill, Aug. 9. Turner, captain of the Doeana, now a’nio t loaded for South Afrioa, was charged at the Pol ce-Court to-day with committing perjury at th'o Bluff at the hearing of the assault case, in which he was charged with taking a fi Herman aboard hia ship and handcuffing him, in having Said that he was not aware that the man was aboard the ship till the police released him. As the Magistrate who heart! the previous case declined to go on with the charge, and defendantwas remanded till Monday, he will be brought before Justices.
