Fire at Hook.
On Sunday morning at 9.30., somp Hoys, who were shooting in the Hook riverbed, set fire to the goree opposite Mr Bowker's property. The fire spread half a mile> and got into two paddocks where Mr Bowker has wheat stacked, and setting fire to three stacks. The neighbours turned out, ploughed round the remaining stacks, and did everything possible to check the flames from spreading further. Their efforts were so far successful, but the three stacks were burnt to the ground, a loss of £BO.
