A number of the leading delegates to the recant Farmers’ Convention were interviewed with regard to the Federal tariff question. They were unanimous on the following points'; —That all revenue required should be raised through the customs; assistance should be given to local industries, and heavy duty imposed on New Zealand till that colony federates with Australia, and protection should be given to tho sugar industry, so that it might be-carried on with white iabohr.
