Magistrate’s Court
■(Before Major Keddell, S.M). Thursday, July 18th. SUPPLYING LIQUOR TO A PROHIBITED PERSON. A case of supplying liquor to a pro hibited person was adjourned till next sitting of the Court. CIVIL CASES, O’Leary v. Joseph, claim M 10s, balance of claim. Mr Hamilton for plaintiff. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for plaintiff with costs £1 5s 6d. Maindonald v. Hardwick, claim for machinery. Mr White for plaintiff, Mr Hamilton for defendant. Mr Hamilton claimed the proceedings were a nullity, but the Bsucb decided that the case could be opened, again. Mr White outlined tho evidence, preferred at the former hearing. His client claimed the full value of the goods for they were thrown on his hands and Were of course depreciating day by day. Evidence for plaintiff was -iven by plaintiff and Messrs Wilson and Hall, engineers in his employ at the time. Mr Hamilton for the defence, sail the order was conditional pn the fif-tj-ings being put on at a certain time ancl tins was not carried out. Evidence for the defence was given by Mr Hardwick. ‘ The case was dismissed.
