A Sensational Bolt
Duxedin, June 25.
Immediately after leaving the station the cheering startled the horses drawing the carriage containing the Premier, Mrs Seddon and the Misses Seddon. The horses bolted and turned down Princes street South, instead of continuing along High street to the Grand Hotel. This caused serious danger to the crowd and the occupants of the carriage. Mr Seddon shouted to somebody to get to tb? horses’ heads, and Mr J. W. Blackwood rushed from the crowd, and seizing the traces, saved the carriage from going over the crest of Princes street* when serious consequences might have happened. The horses were controlled, and the carriage returned to the Grand Hotel, the Premier being heartily cheered.
