High School Board.

The Board sat on Tuesday evening, in the Courthouse, the Rev George Barclay in the chair, and there being also present the Rev Mackenzie Gib son and Messrs H'Wdl, Geo M.n Chester, Coltmau and Dr. Barclay.

In reference to the Board's reserve at Albury, a committee consisting of the Rev. Geo. Barclay and Mr Man Chester were appiouted to go through the correspondence and report. The chairman's report showed th» school to be entitled to £258 Govern ment subsidy, to be devoted to ralaries. At present the Board paid £IOO for sal uten and £BO f r -icholar <hip«, but this £BO could now be save 1 by the Board.

It was decided to discontinue paying the £BO, as it was not required.

As the Government has made ar rangoments for paying the Higl School fees, the exhibition schem. the beginning of 1900 was for mally annuled. The Headmaster leported a High School roll of ?wenty-one boys and seventeen girls. The science appa ratm had arrived, and would be of great assistance. No satisfactory re ply could be obt:i led in regard to a cadet corps. According to the new regulations the Board saved over £BO par year in contributions to the High School, and the Gove-intnent having provided for payment of the fees he would have to refund £2O paid last quarter. In the upper classes of school he proposed to include technical elasses such as woodworking, shorthand and book keeping, cookery and painting, but after the public meeting lie would report more fully.

It was decided to refund the fees of pupils at the High school who had not passed the Sixth Standard. The public meeting re technioa) cl isses was fixed for July 4.
