The Hon W. Hall-Jones and the Cabinet.
Cheistchuroh, June 20,
Truth to-night publishes the following from its Wellington correspondent :—" An extraordinary position has arisen in connection with the quartering of the Royal suite in Wellington. It will be remembered that the Government secured Searle's Hotel forthe accommodation of the ladies and gentlemen in attendance on Royalty. All the boardens of Searle's Hotel vacated except the Hon W. Hall-Jones and his wife and daughter, who refused to give way to accommodate the visitors. . Pressure was brought to beat on Mr Hall Jones by the Cabinet, but he persistently refused to turn out, and strained and bitter relations between himself and bis colleagues have resulted.
It is rumoured that when the Royal party has left the colony, Mr HallJones will be requested -by his colleagues to hand in his resignation. In the meantime, at great inconvenience* the members of the suite have had to be accommodated to toother part of the building.
