Reception Committee.

A meeting of tho Waimnte Troopers* Reception Committee was held yesterday afternoon in the Boron.;h Council Chambers; present —Messrs Mathias’ Scott, Jackson, Franklin and Akhmet, and Mesdaracs Barclay, Mathias Adams and Wilson and Misses Freeman and Clapcott. In the absence of Mr John Manchester Mr Mathias was voted to tho chair.

Arrangements for the social on Thursday were discussed and the programme fixed at: Prom S to 3, dancing; 9 to 10, speeches, presentation of medals by tho Mayoress and songs; dancing then to be resumed. It was dt-cidod to issue invitations to a number of officers and men of the contingents, including Colonel Captains Bourn and Crawshaw, also Lioat,-Colonel Bailey, Major Moore and Sergeant-Major Jones. It was resolved to ask shopkeepers to close bom 3 pm. to 5 p.m. on Monday, the data of the return of Troopers lb and J. Goldstoue. The speakers at tho reception, which is to bo held in front of the Borough Council Chambers if fine and in the drillshed if wet. are the Revs. Barclay and Father Regnault, Mr G. 11 Graham and the Mayor. Mr W. J. Wills is to bo asked to act as M.C. at the dance. A mat-quae is to bo arranged in front of tho hall for a dressing and cardroom.

The South Island contingents by the Elingamita left the boat at Napier and came overland to Wellington.- A wire from Trooper E. Goldstoua last night stated that he and his brother arrive in Waimafce on Tuesday.
