Fire In Wellington.

A very destructive firs occurred in Wellington oa Thursday invoicing a loss of L16.0U0 worth of property, bat fortunately unattended by loss of life. Twenty-three out of twenty-five bouses situated in the Hawker, Shannon and Moeliar street districts, covering an area of from two to throe acres were totally destroyed. Mr Rowe, chief Librarian of the Wellington Library, lost a private library of 3000 volumes, valued at LI4OO, and taking a lifetime to collect. All seems the fault of the inadequate water-supply as tbs force on the jets would not throw a stream more than twenty feel.
