Waimate A. and P. Association.
A committee meeting of the' Wiimate Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on Saturday af ternooa, Mr W. H. Beckett (president) in the chair, and there also being present Messrs Francis, Guthrie, Hertslett, Douglas, Scott, Garland, Mathias, Pratt, Duggan, Reilly, Mitchell and Cowan. These had been deputed to .canvass for farm products with iit-which to compete at the Dunedin | Winter Show, v Those deputed to the various - .3868 ported. that thoy were
unable, on account of the late stun, to obtain a collodion that would hv truly representative of the district. After some discussion, Mr (.Jar laud gave it as his opinion th;ii Wannate County should not compote this year, hit put all its energies into making a Show next, year of which the county would be proud. He would move in this direction. Mr Reilly, in seconding the .•coiion, expressed himse'f entirely in accord with these views. The motion was put and carried •inanimously. Votes of thanks to the Horticultural Society for offering to assist with the collection, to the secretary (Mr C. Akhurst) for his unremitting attention, and to the chair closed the meeting.
